Your Ideas, My Style: The Collection Inspired by You
Hey everyone!
The sun's finally out in Ann Arbor, and after months of serious Vitamin D deficiency, I'm thrilled to be soaking up some rays! While you were waiting for warmer weather, I was cooped up in my studio from February through April.
What an invigorating season it's been in the studio! I've poured my energy into bringing a fresh wave of new paintings to life. This vibrant collection—including several large-scale pieces and a delightful array of medium and miniature works—is now live on my website, ready for you to explore!
But, here’s the BEST part!!!
A big chunk of this collection came directly from your ideas and requests! Yes, you heard that right. I've had the incredible opportunity to dive into subjects you wanted to see in my style. Whether it was a favorite landscape, an emotion, or a feeling you hoped my brushstrokes could evoke, I made a note of it.
Translating your visions into my art has been a fascinating challenge and a true joy. It transforms my creative process into a collaborative adventure, making these pieces feel like shared creations. My goal is always to connect with you and bring something meaningful into your space.
When people visit my booth, they often say my work makes them feel joyful, thanks to the vibrant colors. It's truly amazing to get that reaction, especially because that's exactly the feeling I intend my work to evoke, so when you share your requests, we're already aligned – yay!
You'd be surprised at the specificity: "daisies only, no sunflowers!" or vice versa, or specific type/style of trees and flowers, colors (I get purples, yellows and blues), birds/animals (deer please, squirrels please!.), waves, travel locations. These are the nature subjects that catch your emotions and bring back happy memories.
I get it! It's like the lift you feel bringing fresh flowers home versus when they wilt. That feeling evoked by a specific color, flower, or subject—it's powerful.
So, as you browse the new collection on my website, see if you can spot pieces sparked by your own suggestions!
Now, I'd love to hear from you!
Got a subject you've always wished an artist would paint? What is it?
What themes or ideas in art resonate with you most right now?
Does knowing a piece was inspired by a collective idea change how you see it?
Share your thoughts, questions, or requests in the comments below! I'm always listening, and your next idea might just inspire my next canvas! And yes, I'll update you later this year on how these inspired pieces fare at the art fairs!
Stay creative!!!
